It is essential that society understands the value of differences while recognizing human nature to create an environment where diversity is celebrated but raised higher for the greater good. For Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), an individual domain stands as the operating force for navigating the interaction of race, culture, and social environment. The very core of DEI lies in recognizing that individuals are not equal; rather, every person is influenced by a variety of factors that impact his/her ethics, values, and morals. This work explores the complex nature of DEI. Also, using real-world case studies, the work seeks to demonstrate how DEI initiatives have changed perceptions and nurtured more inclusive environments. The goal is to advocate for the equality fundamental in DEI and explore the notion of "a piece of the pie," recognizing the complexity of realizing equal representation in different societal contexts.
