Equifax – Data Breach Actions and Consequences

Equifax Inc. is one of the three largest consumer credit reporting agencies in United States. It collects and aggregates sensitive information on over 800 million individual consumers and over 90 million businesses worldwide. Equifax, based in Atlanta, Ga has over $3B in Annual revenue and over $500 M in annual profits. It has over 9000 employees worldwide. It provides credit related data to businesses and also sells credit monitoring and fraud prevention services directly to consumers. Equifax, Experian and Transunion are required by law to provide one free credit report to it consumers.
