The administration at a faith-based, predominantly Caucasian organization implemented a new “diversity in hiring” initiative. A department leader’s personal and professional network lacked adequate professional resources to fulfill the initiative. Given assistance from a senior member in a different department, a highly qualified millennial, female of color was eventually hired. This case highlights some of the new hire’s challenging workplace experiences for discussion and analysis.
