Seven years ago, at the CJBE Milwaukee meeting, the Friday keynote address was, “The Liberating Art of the Jesuit Business School.” The purpose of this paper/presentation is to provide an update on “the link between business and sustainability, looking at the specificities of our schools to bridge the gap between those important society challenges through our teaching, research and community relationships,” by re-focusing on the recent and rapidly emerging sharing economy, including programmatic efforts in microfinance, social entrepreneurship and sustainable development. The paper provides and overview of the recent developments in social justice initiatives in the liberal arts and business curricula, and serve as the foundation for a presentation and discussion of current sharing and sustainability initiatives in a Jesuit business school.
