Enloe State Bank was a small community bank in Cooper, Texas. The bank was closed by the Texas Department of Banking in 2019 after the bank president set the conference room on fire. Investigations revealed extensive fraudulent activity by the bank’s president, Anita Moody, partially stemming from her role as a dominant official. Moody was able to hide the fraud for years due to poor systems of internal controls at Enloe, and deficiencies in the bank examination process.
