This paper is a research note which examines whether all business disciplines benefit equally from a variety of published case studies – or are some disciplines enjoying greater numbers of options of cases, while other disciplines offer a smaller pool of cases for instructors to utilize. The study utilized a sample of cases published within SCR journals and the authors classified each case according to discipline. A chi-square analysis shows there is, in fact, more cases published in management and marketing, when compared to other disciplines. Implications are also discussed.
