The coronavirus, known as COVID-19 quickly spread throughout the world making it a modernday pandemic. A virus that started in Wuhan, China rapidly spread through the world making its
way into the United States causing a huge economic crash and a shortage in PPE and Ventilators.
General Motors also known as GM partnered with the federal government creating a contract
allowing them to produce ventilators and masks for the growing demand. This contract was
created when President Donald Trump enforced The Defense and Production Act of 1950. With
this act in place GM promised to produce 30,000 ventilators by the end of August 2020.
