This paper will introduce a new program being offered by the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. Due to capacity constraints in the Carroll School, Arts and Sciences students have been unable to transfer into the Carroll School. The administration decided to create a summer program that would give Arts and Sciences students the opportunity to take courses in the core functional areas of business. The Summer Management Catalyst Program is designed exclusively for non-management students, and it is an intensive, full-time, 10-week program, designed to develop a solid and broad foundation in management. This summer will be the fourth summer the program is running. I have taught the Business Ethics component of the program for the last three summers, and this summer I will both teach Business Ethics and serve as the Assistant Director. My hope is that this paper will provide lessons learned and best practices for anyone interested in developing a similar program at their own Jesuit business school.
