Business students will be entering an environment that is volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. While they will experience unprecedented opportunities, they are also likely to experience significant stress resulting from our social, political, economic, and technological environment. Management practice offers tools for ameliorating stress at work including improving relationships, encouraging wellness, and promoting balance. Business leaders can benefit from exploration of sabbath and sacred time. We share approaches that we have taken to introduce interfaith concepts of sabbath and sacred time to students. We discuss existing literature that connects observance of sabbath to reduced anxiety and explore sabbath and sacred time from multiple faith perspectives to uncover commonalities. Observing sabbath and sacred time can fundamentally influence our relationships with work and to each other.
